Where do menstrual pains come from? Find out everything about them!

Many women suffer from pains before and during their periods. However, a visit to the gynecologist does not bring any solution. Well, maybe in addition to prescription for anti-inflammatory or contraceptive drugs. In this article, we will explain to you where these  pains  come from and how to deal with them naturally with healthy food.

Estrogens responsible for pain?

Menstrual pains in women are mainly caused by the excess of estrogens in the blood. These are female hormones that are essential to health because they affect our intellectual abilities, skeletal system, blood circulation, etc.

Pains during menstruation

Where does excess estrogen come from causing these pains?

There are several factors that increase estrogen levels. This applies to both women and men:

Woman smoking a cigarette
  • Food that we are unable to digest because we have an intolerance.
  • Stress.
  • Tobacco and alcohol.
  • Polluted air.
  • Food preservatives and toxic substances in everyday products (soaps, shampoos, cosmetics, etc.).
  • Birth control pills.

Excess estrogen – risks

Menstrual cramps are not the only consequence of excess estrogen. Below are some examples of health problems closely related to too high levels of female hormones:

  • Irregular periods.
  • Headaches.
  • Pain in muscles and joints.
  • Poor metabolism.
  • Falling out hair.
  • Dry skin.
  • Tiredness.

Harmful food products

To treat a hormonal imbalance, avoid (or at least limit) the following foods:

  • Sugar and sweetened drinks:

Sugars are of no use to us. Especially white sugar – it is really harmful to health. It deprives us of minerals and gradually acidifies the body.

  • Wheat:

The wheat products we eat today are most often modified and many of us are unable to digest them (sometimes we don’t even realize it). Let’s try to replace wheat with oats, rye or spelled.

Always choose whole grains !

  • Cow’s milk:

Most people with excess estrogen are lactose intolerant. We suggest that you reach for plant-based drinks based on oats, almonds or rice, and choose cheeses made of sheep’s or goat’s milk.

Cocktail for menstrual cramps

Also, avoid soy products – they are genetically modified and overloaded with estrogen.

  • Red meat:

Not recommended in excess. You can reach for them – at most – once every 15 days. And always with vegetables and salads.

  • Stimulants such as coffee, alcohol and cola. Don’t even think about them.

Natural supplements

You should avoid all the above-mentioned harmful products and you will definitely feel positive changes. In addition, we suggest that you use these three health-promoting products every day that will help you regulate your hormonal levels, eliminate excess estrogen, and thus – menstrual cramps.

  • Linseed Oil:

The oil that comes from linseed is extremely rich in all the acids that are essential for maintaining the proper level of estrogen. Besides, it’s a great way to get dry skin.

You should drink one tablespoon of oil (15 g) daily. If you are disturbed by its taste, you can buy it in capsules.

  • Immaculate Conception  (Vitex Agnus-Castus) :

This medicinal plant helps us fight menstrual cramps and even restore menstruation in those women in whom it – for unknown reasons – has disappeared. We take 200 mg of chasteberry extract daily for 3-4 months (its effectiveness is gradually increasing).

  • Maca (Lepidium meyenii):

The root of a plant that can only be found in the Andes. It is an excellent hormone regulator because it acts directly on the pituitary gland. Extremely energetic – it will be useful especially when we are exhausted.

Take 3 to 6 g daily, in capsules or with water, juice or yoghurt. In some cases, it can cause nervousness. You may need to reduce your dose or even stop your treatment.
