  • 1 cup of baking soda (200 g)
  • 4 liters of water

  • Mix both ingredients in a bucket or large bowl. Put on your clothes and soak them well. If necessary, add more water.
  • Leave the clothes in the bowl and let them soak overnight. They will be ready to wash in the morning.

Dry your clothes outside

The best way to dry your clothes that previously stank of smoke, mold or sweat is to hang them outside. By letting them dry in the sun and wind, you will eliminate unpleasant odors.

Even on a cold winter’s day, you can still hang your clothes outside. It is enough to choose a place where they will be exposed to sunlight.

You can also use a dryer. After drying, check the smell of your clothes and decide if you need to wash them again.

  • 1 tablespoon of baking soda (10 g)
  • Water

Preparation

  • All you have to do is make a paste of baking soda and a little water. Another option is to use hydrogen peroxide or vinegar instead of water.
  • This paste is ideal for removing stains from oil, grease, mud, food and many other substances.
  • To use it properly, just spread it gently over the stain. Make sure it is all over the stain area, pay attention especially to the edges.
  • Leave it on for 15 minutes.
  • Once the stain is on a durable fabric, you can scrub it with an old toothbrush.  Never try to scrub on delicate fabrics such as silk or satin as this may weaken the fibers.

Finally, rinse the garment with plenty of warm water to remove excess solution. On very delicate fabrics, it is best to use a damp cloth.
