Improve Your Posture By Following These Valuable Tips
It’s not just that we look unattractive and our backs hurt. Inappropriate body posture can cause us other, really serious ailments. There are many reasons for this: overweight, inadequate muscles, or sitting in the wrong position for a long time. All of this can be improved! A little willpower and correct body posture guaranteed!
Correct body posture – 8 tips
Stable posture – it is the one that keeps our body in the right line and with a minimum energy expenditure. To achieve this, you need to keep your spine free from any sideways curvature.
Also, do not forget about the curves in the upper back (the ones we commonly call the “hump”), or in the lower one.
Many of the activities we perform every day lead to the fact that our attitude is not the most correct.
By the way, we may experience aches and pains. A sedentary lifestyle, many hours of work at the computer, or an inadequate sleeping position make our body posture suffer, and we do not even realize it.
Fortunately, there are ways that are very effective. Thanks to them, our body posture will begin to improve, and over time it will cease to be a problem for us. This is the best gift you can make yourself!
Your body posture in the mirror
It’s really useful: to stand in front of a large mirror and observe yourself while working on the correct posture. We start with the appropriate weight distribution on both feet.
Then we direct our shoulders back so that they are properly leveled.
You will know when your posture will be appropriate if you visualize a straight line from behind the ear, across the shoulder, behind the hip, knee and across the ankle.
Leaning against a wall
Another very effective way to position your body is to lean your back and buttocks against the wall. And to check whether the current posture is correct, just move the hand between your hips and the wall.
If your hand does not fit, is constricted or, on the contrary, the space is too large, your body posture is inappropriate.
While sitting
Make sure your back is straight, shoulders back, and feet flat on the floor. Remember not to cross your legs for too long – it has a negative effect on blood circulation, causes the legs to swell and the appearance of varicose veins.
While standing
The bust should be lifted and the stomach slightly taut, as it is the abdominal muscles that are responsible for maintaining stability. Distribute your body weight on both legs and bend your knees slightly.
During the march
Raise your head and straighten your neck.
Constantly staring at the ground should be avoided as it can cause neck pain. We always put the heel first, and then the rest of the foot.
While sleeping
The best sleeping position is to lie on your side with your legs slightly curled. In this way, we have a properly aligned spine and avoid breathing problems such as snoring.
Sitting on the edge of the chair
In order to maintain balance, one foot is placed under the chair and the other is moved forward.
Physical exercise
Exercise is very important. Thanks to them, we stretch the muscles and keep them in perfect condition. These, in turn, are essential for proper body posture. Walking, jogging, swimming or stretching are recommended, always taking proper posture into account.
On the other hand, those who spend many hours sitting down should stand up from time to time, rest and stretch their muscles. The same applies to those who work standing.
